Photoshop and other image processing software can give transmedia creators tremendous flexibility when creating illustrations for their work. The use of 3D models in the creation of comic book and graphic novel art is becoming increasingly common as 3D software becomes more sophisticated and less expensive.

The image was created using a near photorealistic render of a 3D model (bottom left). The render was then manipulated in Topaz studio to create three different images, which were then laid over top of each other and manipulated using Photoshop to enhance the image. The background was processed in the same way and then composited into Photoshop to create the final image.
